I used to love to put up a tree and wrap presents. In the past few years I hate putting up a tree and don't do it anymore. I don't hang lights up either. I buy a few items but use them as soon as I buy them, I don't wrap them or anything. Just too boring to me. Not very close to family and anyway they are bored with it too. Not into charity stuff because I don't have much myself and the people in my area that take charity are a bunch of unwed mothers and illegals whom I don't care to help. Not really interested in spending my time with people who dont speak english and breed, as that is the profile of most of the needy in my area. The other things are way on the other side of town. I try to go to the mall and walk around but since I don't have any money, it's no fun as I have window shopped enough and don't like to go in a store without buying anything as the clerks bother me trying to help me. Does anyone else see it as just another day?

You've definitely lost the Christmas spirit. Are you going to be Mrs. Grinch now? It's really nice to receive, but you feel even better when you know you've gone out of your way to do something for someone else, even if it's just baking cookies. You don't have to spend a lot of money to bake food for someone else.

What I think it is, is that you're afraid you're going to be left out of the activities and the spirit of the season, so you're telling yourself it's not special, but boring. That way you can pretend you're not missing anything. It might work but I doubt it. I think you're headed for a depressing season, the way your birthday was, which would be a pity. Stop brooding about your life and think of something you can do for those you care about. It'll be good for you--I promise.

Not having very much money certainly at Christmas makes people a a bit fed-up with the whole idea of it.
I am not a very wealthy person myself ,but I do try to join in the spirit of Christmas by going to Church .
My biggest complaint about Christmas these days is its is totally commercialized with a lot of people trying to out-do each other. My advice would be ,just make the best out of your situation as you can.
Good luck.

Have I lost interest in Christmas? No.Christmas is so much more than all the trappings that are associated with this time of year.
Unfortunately,there are so many expectations put on us(be happy,have fun,have friends and family to celebrate with,have a warm,happy home,Husband,Wife and 3.5 children...oh,and don't forget the dog...etc.),we just can't live up to them.
It's time to get away from that crap.Christmas is about you and how you reaffirm your relationship with God,Nature, the Universe. It's about falling in love with life again. It's about realizing just how lucky and blessed you are at living at this time and place.
Do you want to fall in love with Christmas again? Just go and watch the simple, pure joy of a child playing on Christmas morning. No expectations,no disappointments,no feelings of loss, just love.

I got the same feeling as you. I think it is because as we get older, every day is more important than a special day. I we could get pass a day smoothly, we are considered blessed.
