What things are very special to her, that she talks about a lot or really enjoys?
Some women enjoy a gift like jewelry that's attractive, special and shows the giver wanted them to have something wonderful.
Whereas other women would enjoy something sentimental that shows you really understand them, like you could have your portait professionally done and framed.
If you talk with her and listen, you'll get some ideas. Most women don't want a complete surprise...but she can give you a few hints and you pick one. Good luck!
P.S. I've been married 16 years, and my wife gets lost a lot, so I got her a GPS for her car!

How do you not know what she would like? You should be paying attention all year to things she says and things she does. You may love her but are you focused on her? If none of that is true and you just want something extra special, then I suggest that you plan out a date night for you two, take her to a romantic dinner, perhaps dancing afterward, then when you get home have all the oils ready to give her a very long and possibly erotic massage. Make it all about her. Make her feel your love through your actions and words.

Well you've been together for 4 years now so you must know of things that she is interested in. Whatever she finds enjoyable would be a wise choice, ie: if she enjoys concerts then a pair of tickets to one of her favourite bands. If she enjoys doing some kind of hobby or craft then some supplies for this. If you want something more personal then a nice hand written poem explaining your love for her, your past experiences and future dreams would certainly be appreciated more then if you had spent a million bucks on her. But make sure it is hand written and placed into a nice frame.

Try asking her what she wants or needs. One trick about MOST women (I dont happen to be one of them tho!) is that they don't like getting stuff for the house. Like a vaccuum cleaner probably wouldn't go over too well! If she's girlie a Victoria's Secret gift card is nice. Just dont get bath stuff, we get that too much!

Candles. All girls are obsessed with nice smelling candles. I know... my fiance loves candles. If not, a really nice teddy bear (build-a-bear) should be a pretty good gift. You could always just have a really romantic night for her.
