Why do so many men refuse to have anything to do with their children?Do they think they are hurting the MOM?

They are not really hurting "MOM", but the CHILD.
I have seen men date and live with women that have kids by someother man. Taking care of the kids that are not his. Running down the kids deadbeat dads. But He is doing the exact same thing. Refusing to be in "THEIR OWN" kids lifes.

Sounds a bit personal.

From what I have seen, men that ignore their own children do it either because they don't want to deal with the mother (not because it hurts her) or because the new woman is jealous and does not want him to have anything to do with the kids because she is afraid her man will want the children's mother back.

As for taking care of someone else's while ignoring their own, they are just scum!

I think you're asking the wrong question. It should be "Why is it that so many women make it extremely difficult for men to be a part of their children's lives”.

Yes there are instances when fathers want nothing to do with children and their mothers and I feel for the children, but the majority of the times it is fathers who want to be there and the mothers who throw interference for whatever reason just making it difficult for fathers to be close to their kids. There are fathers out there who continually try to get close, but the mothers keep pushing them away with their actions. So stop blaming the dads and start looking at the moms who are troubled in one way or another. Women are the ones that bare children so they are the ones who needs to actually think about what they are planning on doing before having a child. Is it a wise decision? The mothers also need to look at what kind of connection they had with the father before they got knocked up. If they didn't have much of a connection, don't expect that man to feel that connected to the child.

I really dislike those women out there who try to trap a man by getting pregnant. In some cases the women will get what they want which is marriage with the guy. In other cases, the man will not do that leaving the woman alone and pregnant. When this happens the female becomes aggressive and vindictive making the future’s father life a miserable hell which in turns hurts the child because of the mother’s actions.

There should be laws in place concerning pregnancy. These laws would have certain requirements for the men and women. Are they mentally and financially ready to be a parent if so then they can proceed? Women who did not meet these requirements and are pregnant have two options either to terminate the birth or give it up for adoption. This would definitely help eliminate a lot of problems in this country.

I know I am dreaming because this will not happen since the laws in society are based on the principles placed forth by the Holy Bible which in my opinion is wrong.

Have you ever stopped to think that it could be the MOM preventing some of these fathers from spending time with thier kids--some women will put strings on the custody arrangement such as--you can't see the kids unless you spend time with me or unless you come back to me---some MOMS will poison the kids minds against thier fathers so that the kids won't want to see thier fathers. You might need to dig a little deeper into the subject before passing complete judgement.

For the same reason that many stupid Mom`s want to hurt the dad by saying You cant see them because I said so. My brother is going thru this and he is such a good father but since he filed for divorce she is punishing him. Nobody thinks about the poor kids that are the ones that suffer.

Well let me tell you a story. when my son was born, his father had a girlfriend that i did not know about. later on when my son developed cerebral palsy and was put in the neo natal intensive care unit, my and my husband went to the hospital on shifts. (or so i thought) since i already had a daughter i stayed home at night and i went to the hospital during the day while she was at work. now you know what happened right? while he was suppose to be sitting with his son at night he was over his womans house playing father to her and her three kids. he gave my daughters game boy to one of the children. all this time the girlfriend (whore) new about me but i did not know about her. He eventually moved me and my daughter and his son to an apt. while he rented her a fabu house in the burbs with a swimming pool. there he, the woman, and the three kids lived a charmed life while i toiled with my now infant son who was very sick, and my duaghter then about 11. So i well understand that question. Why do men do that? Why do they make it harder on their family? Girl lets see what kind of answers you get from this question.

simple miss conception of responsiabl ity and prooirtyes my dad had nothing to do with me untill i was 18 so have empathy for your question..
but look at it this way would the child be more jacked up if they had a dad with out good proiritys or responsiblities..
i look at my life and am thankful that my dad wasn't apart of my life while i was growing up! I just see myself being even more lazy thenwhat i am!

usually in these situations it's because *mom* is so unbearable to be around....they tend to distance themselves from the whole situation..if *mom* could get off of her *higher than thou* high horse...dad might have more of a want to be around the kids. But usually it isn't worth fighting or seeing mom to do it.

some guys like the "complete" relationship, where the mother and he gets along and raise the child. but when that relationship ends, he may try to find someone else and start over so he starts neglecting his child and he thinks a broken family is not worth mending especially if he doesnt get along with the babys mother. your better off getting married
