I just got this virus the other day. It is a Trojan. I fixed it by doing a system restore. To do a system restore go to the control panel, go to the help and support center, go to pick a task, click undo changes to your computer with a system restore.

1. Update your virus definitions (in Norton it's called Live Update), then run a full system scan for viruses.

2. Update your Anti-spyware program's definitions, and also run a full scan.

3. Disconnect the USB or Ethernet Cord (the one that connects to your modem) from the computer, or put the Modem in standby.

4. Boot your PC to Safe Mode (F8 on boot up) and log in as Administrator. Delete the contents of the Cookies, Temp, Temporary Internet Files, Recent Documents folders and Recycle Bin in EACH user's login (in My Computer).

Look through My Pictures and any subfolders for pictures of adult content and delete them.

5. System Restore to the day when you remember you didn't have any pop ups, then follow steps 1-3 again.

6. Turn on your Windows Firewall (Win XP Service Pack 2 Only), or any other firewall software. If you have a wireless router, it will have a firewall in it, call the manufacturer of your router and have them tell you how to configure the router firewall.

If you are on the internet, at the time then it is because of a popup that the website owner has put on their website. You need a popup stopper for that: www.toolbar.google.com has the best one in their toolbar, if you ask me. If not, just search a quick google for "Popup blocker".

If you are not on the internet at the time, then it is spyware. Download Adaware from www.lavasoftusa.com and run that a few times. It's free and will clear out your system.

Good luck.

Use SpyBot. It's free and scans and cleans
your PC from all the junk and infections,
including the ones that cause pop-ups.
