For the Steelers to make the playoffs in 06 they need to win out and need a lot of help from a handful of other teams. Right now they are 2 games behind the 6th seed and the Steelers are sitting in the 11th spot so as you can see they need a lot of help.

2007 will be a different a different story for them. They will be back and better than ever and have that hunger to get back to the Super Bowl!

I'm going to say "probably not". They're not mathematically eliminated, though.

If the Steelers play their last few games well, then they still only have about a 30% chance of getting in. That's because there are a lot of winning teams in the AFC.

If the Steelers can win each and every game left on their schedule, that would raise their their chances to about 40%, which is better, but it would be difficult for the Steelers.

Sorry, but no. There are 5 teams fighting it out for the 2 wild card berths and Pittsburgh is 2 games behind those 5. Even if they win out, which probably isn't happening, their 9-7 wouldn't be enough to get them in.

I believe they can.

If the Steelers win the remaining four games and Baltimore lose the remaining four games and Cincinnati wins no more than two more games then they all will be 9-7 and then its up in the air as to conference records division records points scored and what ever they can win at to win the division

Mathematically YES. Now the words CAN and Will are very different and even as a Steelers fan I don't think they will.

They're not mathematically eliminated yet. However they would need to win out the season, and have a few other teams tank the rest of the season (Kansas City, Denver, Jacksonville). So basically they have their backs against the wall.

Nope i don't think so now they are going against the Browns and both safety's and Hines Ward are out so things don't look promising for them at this point in the season.
