When I got pregnant I was in a relationship with "the father". After our first ultra-sound he left me, not because theres anything wrong but because we weren't getting along. Then I had no choice but to move back in with my parents. They are all stuk on me getting a job. I haven't worked through the entire pregnancy besides babysitting the neighbors kids. What job is safe for me to do after now working all this time. Who will hire me? What should I do to get my parents off my back.

Sell items on eBay... as soon as you have your baby you will have maternity clothes to get rid of, and in the meantime you can be going to thrift stores and outlets and finding stuff to sell. All you need is a digital camera, a computer, and a little time. eBay will walk you through everything. It's how I make my living. Good luck!

Most jobs are fine. I've known pregnant women who worked in espresso shops, at checkout stands, etc. The only jobs to avoid would be ones that require excessive physical labor.

Many women work at most jobs until just a few weeks before they give birth.

It's too late now, but this shows why a person should wait until they are married and financially secure before having a child.

Your parents probably should have been on your back a bit more when you were growing up. A child is a huge responsibility, it takes time and money. A child is an 18 year responsibility, not something that can be tossed when you grow tired of it.

Perhaps you should put the baby up for adoption, so it will have a two parent home. You do not have a home or a job, so who will actually be supporting this child? The father sounds just as irresponsible. Please don't think you can live off the system or off your parents. That does not lead to a good life for your child.

From your comments you seem more concerned with yourself then with the welfare of your child. You should be thinking - what can I do to provide the best possible life for my child not how do I get my parents off my back.

The problem these days is that so many young people have kids and decide just to live off of state benefits. These people are then the ones who complain about their poor living conditions, etc. But if you think about it, if the state could take all the money used to support those on welfare and put that to use in the communities with better police and fire support, better school systems etc, that would make a huge difference on the welfare of everyone - not just giving money to those who feel the state should support them and are too lazy to get a job.

Unfortunately Sweetie! We live in a country that looks down on Hiring Pregnant women and it sucks. Your six months and I believe it will be difficult. I was hired at a place and then 2 months later found out i was pregnant with my daughter. They had a **** fit... They were so mean to me.
I suggest going to the unemployment center and speaking to a social worker there and let her know you are 6 months pregnant and in need of a job. At least with them they keep record of all the job they send you out on and you if your not being hired it would be discrimination. Please go see the State Unemployment center that would be your best bet.
I hoped I helped I know it's hard but keep a positive outlook and make sure not to sit on your but at home. Clean the house, make dinner. Do things so that at least if you can't get a job you are doing more then your share. Also apply for WIC I don't know were you live but in California they have a program called WIC that gives you food for you while you are pregnant and when the baby is born they will continue as well as give you formula. Then after you have the baby get a job and then you won't need WIC.

Hmmm... Well, there are plenty of calling jobs. I had one when I was pregnant with American General Finance. I called and took loan applications over the phone. I sat or could stand to stetch my legs, but I was on the phone 8 hours a day, inside, warm, air condtioned and got benefits. Of course I was hired before I was married or even pregnant so this may not be the case. But most employers cannot discriminate based on a disability and pregnancy is considered a disability or illness by most companies

Maybe you should wait until after you have your baby. Most places are pretty reluctant to hire a pregnant woman—because she will be only able to work a month and two and then take a few weeks or even a month or so off to after having the baby. So, it’s probably easier to wait until after you have the baby; unless of course, you look for a part time/ temporary job. Customer Services in inbound calls and clerical jobs are good choices for pregnant women. To get your parents to back off, tell them you’ll find yourself a job after you have your child!

*Just a thought, maybe you should be paid to watch your neighbors kids!!!*

I would go throug your local unemplyment office or as job recruiter. Employers are not supposed to deny you a job if you are pregnant but they can not hire you because of you qualifcations see what I mean. I work as a chef through all three of my pregnancies the forst one I left work and when in to labor. As long as you no aroung any chemicals you will be fine. Look in to comapnies that let you work from home, most will set you up with a computer and a phone line (if they don't it's not a good idea).

Keep babysitting, most places will no hire someone that far along, because thay will soon need to leave again. I recomend once you have the baby find a job as a receptionist or phone operator! They're low impact, and sometimes allow flexible scheduals. Good luck and Congrats lil mama

Good luck getting hired being 6 months pregnant, most people will not hire, because you will need leave in 3 months, but, I worked my whole pregnancy unloading trucks at the grocery store, didnt hurt me or the baby...I lifted as usual and carried on as usual...I am fine and he is fine, that was 7 years ago...

Go to a Temporary agency. They will test you on your typing etc. and get you a job that way.
Now that it is Christmas you can also find a Temporary job at one of the big retail chains. I worked for JcPenney's and they would hire lots of people to help out from Oct. through Feb. (this covered their Christmas holiday and inventory times).
