Should the US really be surprised about the Shiite uprising....when they in fact supported it?

With a stronghold in Iraq and Lebanon precariously perched on a fence and could really go either way...though IMO it's about to fall in the hands of Hezballah(Shiites).

So....where did they(US) think the money was going that they were paying Chalabi?

first off, let me say that you have the single most distracting Avatar in all of Y/A... ... The US has been playing puppet master in the Middle East since WW II... and it's about to bite us in the butt. (no pun intended)

I think you've hit upon something there... as in the US doesn't seem to really think through its foreign policy. Who do you think trained Osama bin Laden?
