Do you realize how many angry replies, death threats, complaints to your manager, etc...you would receive?

Yet, these same people who would completely lose it if someone wished them "Happy Hanukkah" are demanding that stores wish THEM "Merry Christmas"? Oh the hypocrisy of it all.

Someone should plant a camera next week (its Hanukkah) in a major store, instruct everybody in the store to greet all customers with "Happy Hanukkah" multiple times while they shop their, and put the fireworks on FOX at 8PM.

Tried it. The worst I got was some confused looks.

Must depend on where you are, ore what your preconceptions are.

Let's try it at the Whitehouse, better yet let's ask Dub-Yah how to spell Chanukah.

Heck, I'd do it for free and I'm not even Jewish. People just seem to be getting stranger all the time. If a Jewish person wished me a Happy Hannukkah, I would consider it an honor that they were including me (even superficially) in an event that is special to them. As a Christian, I obviously don't have a problem with Merry Christmas. But if a Wicca wished me a Joyous Yule or whatever they wish people, I wouldn't be offended either. Same with someone wishing me a Happy Kwanzaa even though I know the history of that "holiday" and the fact that no one in Africa has ever heard of it. I think people need to stop looking for offense everywhere and realizing that the reason people who offer these "Happys and Merrys" isn't to offend but to include others in the particular joy of our Holy Day/Season.

i assume till these days I in no way thought-approximately it as being politically the terrific option. I consistently thought there are 3 trip journeys, Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years. Now i'm starting to be so self conscious i'm uncertain what to declare. If I say merry Christmas i ought to offend Jews or every physique who does not have fun Christmas, if i do no longer say Merry Christmas different Christians could be offend. I supply up, for now on i will in basic terms say have a severe high quality day.

This holiday season Wal-Mart informed all their employees that they were required to only say "Merry Christmas."
I say Happy Chanukah anyway.
