Funny question....With reality TV, Paris Hilton as our young girls role model and the turn in pop culture in gereral, I sadly have to agree with you. There is so much attention given to these things that it seems the way to be..?.. And what happened to videos on MTV? Or after school specials? All these things have been replaced by The Real World and Sponge Bob. Everyone works to make money to buy things that make our lives easier! Very little is left to our imaginations anymore, because it is all done for us. Why go on a diet when you can just get your stomach stapled? Or read to your kids when your can just have you interactive stuffed bear do it? Things are so easy now-a-days that you no longer HAVE to be ambitous, creative or driven. When we are basicly taught that easier is better, faster and more efficient, then on the flip side we can put our brains in cruise control and just coast along which is really teaching us what? TO BE LAZY!!!! Wow....super question! I'm interested to see some of the responses to this.....

Yes and no. ADD is a recent phenomenon, which may have some actual sufferers, but for the most part is using medication to deal with people rather than to try and work their problems out.
Mentally slow? I don't think we are more than in any other point in history. Physically, perhaps, due to all the obesity.
Utterly moronic, no. That is a technical term used only when you are behind a really bad driver ;)

Mentally slow? No, I don't think so. I think most people DON'T take advantage of opportunities to expand and/or train their minds because they expect the information to be GIVEN to them. There's no EFFORT involved to figure things out for themselves.
ADD? As far as ADD is concerned, my opinion is that ADD people (kids and adults) are the result of a "lack of attention" in their lives. Families today (at least in the U.S.) bombard their children with "activities" to fill their days with, gadgets that plug into their ears which block out their surroundings, game consoles that create sedentary people with socially diminished skills, fast foods that will kill our children through severe obesity....the list goes on.
Utterly moronic? See mentally slow and ADD. Is moronic behavior because there is a LACK or SUPPRESION of common sense? What about criticial thinking? Or teaching of good morals versus bad morals? Remember when, going to school as a kid, meant that you actually learned something? I don't remember D.A.R.E. education, or having to walk through a metal detector, or being afraid that I'd get beaten up in the hallways just because I was there!
I could go on, but this is just the tip of the iceberg. Good question.

yes, people are becoming more and more...stupid. The generations today have no manners or morals and are/will teach their kids that. They teach their kids to be stupid, lazy and get $$ from unemployment.
We as humans rely WAY TOO MUCH on the electronic devices...we cant even do simple math anymore; have to have that calculator. You cant even check out at a store without knowing the person in front of you lifes' history; they dont even get off the phone to check out. Its crazy.
SO your question: mentally slow, ADD and moronic....YES they are. and its sad.

good Lord! Rotter, suspended? That, i must claim, is an absolute bathe, a shame to hang-out Yahoo till the end of its days and, regrettably, a victory for the concept police, self-righteous busy-bodies and questions nazis who prowl this web site. there is yet little we can do to have Rotter's account reinstated i'm afraid, Hopkins abilities are aplenty yet regrettably do no longer boost to aetheric penitentiary-breaking. So the negative fellow will only might want to sit down down out his suspension, no longer of too lengthy a length i wish. And as for the plebs, the dullards and the simpletons who've prepared this sorry affair~ I surely wish you're satisfied with yourselves. What damage became being done to you by someone asking questions that, at the same time as admittedly did no longer have a aspect, though provided some a lot-needed humour and brightened the days of many? moreover, who're you to make your thoughts up what makes a 'valid' question? And in case you imagine you're severe and powerful sufficient to finish that, in case you spot one which by your 'esteemed judgement' isn't 'valid', particularly than rfile it, why no longer only enable it bypass? i'd put up that you're this sort of human beings who see someone being mugged interior the line or drowning and stand idly by because you imagine 'it really isn't any longer some thing to do with me'. you honestly look to lack any shred of decency judging by your habit in this talk board. you're completely despicable and if I found you interior the line i'd be sorely tempted to make you sense discomfort.

I think people have not become mentally slow, just materially dependent
For instance, you use a calculator ofr arithmetic which is rarely necessary
Another Instance: Instead of going through and through books, articles, and the like, we tend to go to the nearest internet cafe to research on stuff...not that Yahoo! Answers were made for the foolish
OK...

No, but we are getting there it seems. Too much computer click-click, newer version consumerism, TV waste. People read less than they did a century ago. It's more about instant gratfication now and thus shorter attention spans. I don't think we'll ever get to the point of "Brave New World" though..ha, let's hope not anyway.

Yes .. instant gratification, whether by immediate access to media, fast food, overnight shipping have made a group of slovenly, lazy, entitled people.
Our culture has no patience, no ability to learn a skill, and feels no sense of pride in knowledge (see how people spell now?).

Ummm, nnn no, I I don't think so, look at the kitty, wild female apes are more social than female humans as they know to "present" themselves to the dominant male.
Wh Whats that you think I am a moron? Look at the flattened dead bug on the page.

they have only become lazy due to modern technology which makes them think that they dont need to use their brains for instance the internet type in ur question and google or yahoo will give u ur answer but they become aware that they need to use ther own brain when it comes to the exams where there isnt any computers and then they think "what am i going to do now?"
