You want one peasant's outfit for the "Cinderella dress", and one formal gown for the "bridal dress." I'm not sure exactly which time period they are doing, but you might want to look at costume stores for ideas.

The peasant's dress should be brown, or other earthy tones. It doesn't have to be tattered, as suggested in some versions of the story, but it shouldn't look like a fancy gown. It should be ankle length, or right above the ankles, not floor length.
The shoes for this dress should be a basic brown leather flat slip on. The only other accessory should be a wig that he can tie back with a simple ribbon.

The gown should be white or silver, and ultra formal. You want a floor length, with a full skirt.
The shoes for the gown should be clear pumps for that glass slipper look, or white with heavy beading and appliques. Then the wig should be able to be done in an updo, for a formal look, plus any jewelry that will match the dress. If you need flowers for a "wedding" in the play, try crafts stores for pre-made artificial bouquets.

your makeup should be the colour of the dress. If your dress is white then make sure he puts on plain white eye shadow. Jewellery make sure it is not heavy since he is performing on stage. Make it a simple light necklace, with a bracelet..i think that is good enough. Take care and GOOD LUCK ON YOUR PLAY.
