Wow, Like OH MY GOD... there was a run off election for committee chairman, well the first time this one guy won it, and there was a runoff so there had to be a re-vote.. well the next time, the OTHER GUY won it!! Is that not political or what!?!?!

Well, actually, Everything is political....
If the other guy had actually won the first ballot, there wouldn't have been a run-off. He didn't get enough votes for a majority or to prevent a run-off, so the voters for the other candidates chose the other guy.
That's just democracy. That's how things work. Happens all the time. Not unusual. Just meant that a majority of voters didn't want him. They wanted someone else.

Well, I guess the guy who won the first round was not as good as the other guy on courting other first round candidate's votes.
