There was an article in a popular art magazine not too long ago about nudes/how they don't sell/how alot of people consider nudes to be pornographic etc... I often paint nude figures. The human body in it's consruction and form is very beautiful, so I try not to worry about what others think of nudes. But, do nudes sell? Just look at Lucien Freud, Jenny Saville, Mary Beth McKenzie... the list goes on.

Almost certainly not here, and your prejudice does not match the offended group in society who have no problems (apparently) with naked mannequins in store displays and girls in skimpy bikinis but will get art teachers fired after they take students on an approved field trip and the precious snowflakes see naked male statues. The United States is much more uptight (like you are) than most of the World and has carried the most extreme of Victorian prudishness into Protestant evangelism trying to enforce views, while not noticeably reducing child and women's abuse by relatives. For most of history, people had no privacy and lived in close quarters with men and women seeing each other nude or nearly so. And obviously, both male and female sculptors thought the human body was worth portraying and had little interest in sculpting clothing (unlike painters that found cloth was hard to paint and therefore also interesting.)

I'm sure some people are offended by nude art - I'm not one of them.
Art showing men or women in their most natural form shouldn't offend anyone in my opinion.

I have been creating graphics for tshirts at cafepress.com. At their website they list the following regarding a "gray area" for submissions that are nude:
"MAYBE allowes. It is impossible to provide a definite answer to this question, since "nude images" can consist of some of the most famous works of art ever created, or content that is obscene, pornographic, or even illegal. CafePress.com prohibits the latter and permits the former. However, a substantial amount of material falls somewhere between the two extremes. When this happens, CafePress.com must exercise its discretion on a case-by-case basis." cafepress.com Official Website statement.
This is important because one of my best graphics in black gray and white contrast is a relief of a naked man lying on a couch with a cat on the floor. So i waited after submitting for their reply.
This shirt is now available and promoted at squidoo.com:

Another graphic contained a male and female standing apart full-frontal ADam & Eve and was on site until someone flagged. That is when I learned to get approval from upper management.
And for historical context of male nudity and art refer to Margaret Schaub Michealangelo's DAVID, a LENs at squidoo.com

Do you think all people are the same?
SOME people are offended, some aren't. Thats the way the world works.

Only the narrow minded ones. It's just a body we all have the same parts. We see so many sexual images on a daily basis, but we get upset if someone is painted naked. I dont get it.
