Maybe it's jammed. Try jabbing it with a pencil or or push on it really hard. It should be fixed by then.

If other keys are working fine, chances are your 'a' key is stuck. You need to open up your key board to check it out if the "plastic spring board" beneath it is crushed or broken. However, it is difficult to put it back (need very careful placement of keys and connectors etc) even after you have fixed it. Get a new keyboard - it is about $5 - $10 US these days.

try to clean it make up as down and shake it.
Or buy a new one
or
use a dos command in a batch file to make "a " key output "a".

just get a new one once they start that stuff they just become a pain new ones are fairly cheap
