Reading more always helps, and improves your vocabulary. You can play online by yourself. Try for larger scores by playing any word, and then on your next turn add an s to the word and then create another word off this s so then you get credit for both your previous word and the one you just played.
Try looking through the dictionary if you have a hard time thinking of words with certain letter combos. Hope this helps! I love scrabble!

I don't know about approving it, but you can IMPROVE it by learning words and their meanings. Look at a dictionary or thesaurus and just try to learn words.
Doing crosswords are helpful as well.
