VWoA are being incredibly rude and won't fix my car that is their defect. I'm looking for any type of Help Me Howard things or any attorneys that specialize in the auto industry.

It's an '02 VW Golf. I went from a stop to a start, reached about 7 MPH and my pass. side airbags deployed, hitting my boyfriend. VW claims I hit a pothole. I hit nothing. The damage they are claiming in photos is nothing but someone screwing up when they jacked the car up in the past.

These are the pics http://s116.photobucket.com/albums/o14/dorkchopqueen/

All of those scrapes/whatever are OLD, as shown by the dirt down there.

There has been many reported incidents of this, but VW chooses to ignore this potentionally fatal problem. The car shuts off when the bags go off. I'm glad I wasn't on a freeway.

More information on the defect would be extremly useful. Plus, is this car still under the bumper-to-bumper warranty? Complaining to the BBB will not do anything to a business as large as a car dealership. Try calling the dealerships general manager, if they are even half way decent they will hear you out. The NHTSA doesn't deal with your type of complaint, unless it's a major safety defect that would affect a large percentage of VW owners. If it comes down to it, you could always consult a lawyer and see what they think.

Go to the alldata.com/recall/make site(s), then find your vehicle and year, and find the recalls and TSBs (Technical Service Bulletins, also called hidden recalls).

Go to your dealer with the info, and demand it be fixed. We finally had to demand that the ZONE REPS meet with us.

We purchased a '95 Dodge Ram 4x4 new in Reno in '95, and there is no way that dealer will back warranty work, but received "GREAT" service in Las Vegas. When we finally sold it, there was 162 hours of warranty word done on it. By the way, there was not a "Lemon Law" in Nevada at that time, and there may not be one yet (?).

We're back in the Reno/Sparks (Lovelock) area, have a new RAM 4x4, and have the work done in Fallon.

Don't give up, and it will finally be resolved for you.

Hope this helps.

Help us out with more details on the problem, why you consider it a defect, and why they can't fix it. Not knowing the nature of what you're describing makes it difficult for anyone to really hep you.

hitting a pothole will NOT cause air bag to deploy. the best thing to do is call you local consumer affairs department or bureau of automotive repairs to help you. if the incident you describe is true, 99 percent, you will win this case from these agents help. i help so many customers win their cases by telling them to contact consumer affairs or bureau of automotive repairs. california resident-call 1800-952-5210

Lemar is right we need more details. Is the car new or did you buy it used without purchasing a warranty etc. Usually as is means just that.

the BBB is a joke . . so don't even bother

I would consider them an advertiser not a customer help center.
