I dislike it as well I know my mother kept on saying I'm so happy you guys are pregnant to my sister . I wanted to scream. NO, he is not pregnant. HE doesn't throw up every morning. HIS penis doesn't produce more liquid then ever. HE can eat whatever he wants--and know he won't throw it up later. HE doesn't feel tired every morning when he wakes up. HIS back doesn't hurt. HE is not lugging an extra twenty pounds around!. The woman is pregnant. The woman has the pregnancy issues. I felt almost like she was belittling her just by saying they were both pregnant.

It's more appropriate to say "we're having a baby", but I don't have a problem with people saying "we're pregnant". In fact my husband and I were pregnant twice. I didn't get pregnant by myself, and I liked that he wanted to share the experience with me. I think we spend way too much time being irritated about what others do and say when it doesn't affect us in any way.

I love it when my guy says "we're pregnant". No he is not carrying the baby and god knows he probably could not handle it...but he is so in love with this baby. He had a part in making it...so to me "we" are pregnant together. Plus, I think it gives him a part in this. Just like with baby showers...all of my showers include him and other men!! I dont think baby showers should just be for the woman...she is not the only having a baby!!!

That's what my hubby said.... and he gained about 15 pounds with me during the pregnancy, so I think it fit! Besides, "We're having a baby" isn't any more appropriate - to have a baby implies giving birth and men don't give birth either!

If it isn't the same thing, then please tell me how a man has a baby? When a man says, "We're having a baby", he means "My wife/gf is pregnant and will be giving birth." It isn't like he is announcing that they are expecting a visit from the stork!

Hey, girls, here's a hint: "We're pregnant" and "we're having a baby" are the **EXACT SAME THING**. The only one who is pregnant is the woman, and the only one who gives birth is the woman. Guys say "we're pregnant" because HE had something to do with it, too. You both do. Without one or the other, nobody would be having a kid. And I can't BELIEVE that I'm the first person to say that.

Why in the world would that bother you? It takes 2 people to make a baby so if they want to say "we are pregnant" then so be it!

Sounds like a wee bit of jealousy, when a woman gets pregnant the man may as well cuz he will be at the beck and call of his pregnant wife with her cravings and temporary inabilities to tie shoes, bend over, walk, every activity becomes hampered when you are pregnant and you need help so yes , bascically they are pregnant

I think it's OK to say. I mean he may not be able to actually be pregnant, but living in a house with a pregnant woman, he has to put up with a lot (mood swings/getting food for cravings). And at times they go through what you do (short of the pain ect) so, sure why not?

I don't find it irritating at all, but I can only speak for myself. My husband was very much involved throughout my pregnancy and took whatever mood I was in with grace.
