WHERE are you?? It depends on your location what hummingbirds are native. If I knew where you were I could tell you.

You didn't say what area is "this area", but I'll
assume you mean eastern North America, where
the only breeding species of hummingbird is the
ruby-throated hummingbird. See Peterson's Field
Guide to eastern birds, or any of the other field
guides there are around these days. However,
a couple of other species turn up in the east on
occasion, apparently mostly in the winter. The
black-chinned and possibly the rufous hummers
have been reported in Florida. Actually, the
ruby-throat is around for only about half the year,
being only a summer resident, and spending the
rest of the time in the tropics.

Well since you give no location it is hard to say what single hummingbird is native to your area. Although I can take a guess because I believe there is only one area that has just one hummingbird species. That is the Ruby-throated hummingbird, go here for more detailed information about them... http://www.birds.cornell.edu/AllAboutBirds/BirdGuide/Ruby-throated_Hummingbird_dtl.html

We don't know what "area" you live in - do we?

Try again.
