Yes it's totally normal, at this age it is easier to push backwards than to pull forward, at aroung 12-18 months they figure out they can go forward, usually by accident!!

It is much easier to kick backwards than pull forwards. She's building the muscles, don't worry.

All of my kids also crawled backwards. It's funny, cause you can see them try and want to go forwards, they rock thinking that will propel them, but when they move it was backwards for so long.

Just get it on video tape it and show it to their girl/boyfriends 16 years from now. Believe me, it will be in the blink of an eye. My baby is 20 now. You'd never guess he crawled backwards.

Very normal, and intentional

Very very cute.

Babies to work all muscles on their chubby legs, and walking backwards is one way to do that. That or it is easier for here to move backwards in her walker than forward... if this is the case you may want to let her crawl a bit.

The biggest concern should be that she doesn't back into anywhere dangerous, that she can't see.

But this is normal

Yes it is normal. My daughter is 8 months also and is only going backwards too. It is easier for them.

Both my kids and most kids I have been around have always went backward in their walkers amongst other rider toys. It is easier for them to go backwards at first. Soon enough she will be using her muscles and figure out how to go forwards.

Yes, I have seen a lot of babies go backward in the stroller. They like the push with their little legs, and that sends them backward. She is among the normal, and she will learn to go both directions soon enough.

it is normal. you see, mine did the same until she reached 1 yr. and now she doesn't even need a walker. the reason young ones walk backwards at that age is because they find it easier than walking forward.

Yes, it's normal they start out going backward because it's much easier.
I recently had to use a wheelchair for a couple of weeks. I could use my legs to push it but I found it much easier and faster to go backward, especially on carpet!
As your child uses it more, she will discover she can go forward and see where she is going without banging into things..

Pushing backwards is a lot easier than pulling herself forward.

Yes, all three of my children, my grandson, and other children I cared for did. Very normal, just easier to push back on their feet before going forward.
