Not online. I would miss the Christmas music and the chance to say "Merry Christmas" to a stranger.
I think there are many great places to shop out there. A couple of my all time favorites is Macy and Wal-Mart. They have a variety of things and they are reasonable. They fit all budgets.

Online is the best place to shop if you are short-tempered and impatient. As for me I love to do some shopping online and some in the store. The shopping crowds actually get me into the Christmas spirit. The best stores are Wal-Mart, Target, Kohls, and Old Navy.

Go downtown. Not only do you get all the shops, but you get to see all the lights and all the people. Yes, there are going to be lines, and yes, going downtown might be a little more expensive, but if you go with a friend, and make a day out of it, it would be fun. Have dinner downtown and enjoy the atmosphere.

I like to get a lot of stuff from play.com. All the rest I get from York where there are lots of cool shops that sell unusual things.

Nowhere. Stay under your bed until Christmas is over, then rush to the post-Xmas sales and get some cheap stuff for next year.

Wal-mart and Amazon.com. Between them you can get everything. Amazon is really quite an amazing site. I used to think it was mostly like a borders, but it is so much more!
Good Luck

Online.
Great selection. No waiting. Easy to compare. No crowds. No heavy lifting.
