I have recently completed my Masters in Literature and History. I have two undergrad degrees, one in English the other in Print Journalism. I want to get into a job as an Editorial Assistant but it seems nearly impossible with my limited experience. Does anyone know of companies that are willing to take a chance on graduates?

start small...even if you have to start in the mailroom at your fave magazine. Sometimes you have to go for an underqualified job to gain experience before they will even look at you...

The whole editing process requires skills and experience

The best thing a young editor can do is show your skills

For example to gain any job you must sell yourself what can you give that another person cannot give.

The best advice is always show your stenghts and weaknesses as a motivation.

These tips should be helpfull and add these to your applicatioin
What skills or techniques have you learn during the course?
what is your motivation?
Why do you enjoy editing?
What sets you apart from the rest?
What creativity and endurance do you have?
what ability and capability are you able to maximise?
Do you get along with people?
Are you a team player do you thing outside the box?
Have you got the detemination to suceed in editing?
What makes you drive your enthusiam?

These question that I imply make you aware that expereince is needed but as I know the employer wants to see someone like yourself as an editor who thinks ahead and shows their skills. When employing they want a trusthworthy and a apllicant whop shows potential and who is above the rest. So if you belive in your strenght and SELL YOURSELF show your drive, motivation, potential, genius flair, articulate and creative talant nobody will refuse you.

Keep note

- Always belive in your abilities
- Show the employer in editing that you have the courage falir and motivation
- Be organised keep applying for a job in editing ask expereinced people in that sector

As far as chances on graduate comapnies want a no brainer someone they can hire for their organisation. The best of the best you are the best you need to prove to them they are not hiring a chancer. I have seen people get into jobs regardless of experience at the end of the day its about YOU your talent your capability drive passion to suceed in the coperate world of editing only YOU can convince thoes large coperations and if you keep knocking on the door someone will reply. Most people need to understand always add your QUALITIES and your academic qualifications these are far important then ay expereince. Also most comapnies want graduates due to their young and enthusiatic minds

Hope you the best luck thank you
