well i moved down here to noth carolina from living 30 years in new york and never in my life have i seen people so ignorant .the whites hate the blacks the blacks hate the whites and everybody hates the mexicans,i'm not in new york anymore and i am beginning to realize it was a wonderful place to grow up and i miss it i should have stayed i am so sorry i am here people hate one another and being that i am from new york they hate me all the more it is a shame

i would leave the south is living in the past and alot of people there are too hard headed to change come back and live with us yankees lol

I'm from NY and moved to Raleigh NC. The secret to life in the South is finding a city with alot of Yankees and not a Mayberry type community. It makes a world of difference. I now live in South Florida and it sucks. English is a 2nd language and you ain't seen rude til you come down here.

You are generalizing. There is much prejudice still in the south. I hope that the majority of us are educated enough to know better than that. It is sad, isn't it. My parents were both raised in rural Louisiana in the 1920's. They came from extreme prejudice. They did not perpetuate the ignorance. My brother and I were raised that all men are created equal.

ok,,, i'm from NY (long island to be exact) to and my family moved to NC as well, i'm not sure what your talking about, i've never seen so many biracial couples as i have in the south and i know the reason many of them don't like the mexicans, many of the mexicans are illegal and many of them have driven the locals salaries down because the mexicans will work for way LESS, mexican grown men hit on teenage girls all the time ( was one of them) i can't tell you how many times i have cursed them out, and they would follow us around the mall and my mother threatened to throw one off the mall balcony! you have to experience it to understand it

I live in Iowa in a rural area. So I never see any racist stuff here. Except for all the old people who have delusions that I will get marred someday.

I would move back if I were you. I live in Florida and the people here are assholes.....I moved here from MICHIGAN... Its so much better up there. Maybe you should move to Michigan
