ok with all three of my children I used heating pads and electric blankets. All my children are fine. Dr's do not recomend using these things because they release some kind of electro magnetic field, when they are on. So hmmm when in doubt call the obgyn, they are their to answer any and all your guys questions, at any time!

No they are not recommende. What she can use is a towel. Have her wet a towel with enough heat that is tolerable and use that instead of a heating pad. A heating pad get too hot. Just like they don't recommend a sauna or a jacuzzin while being pregnant.

The heat can dilate the blood vessels and can increase blood pressure if it gets too hot. We don't recommend this. But a moist warm towel is ok.

Hope this helps and good luck... all the best.

I think it is okay to use the heating pad on low, but not more than 15 mins because of the possibility of it raising your body temp. I'd recommend the leave on patches that have the rub built into them. They work pretty well.

Yes. I had really bad sciatic pain when I was pregnant and would use a heating pad all the time, and it was okay'd through my dr.

My doctor doesn`t recommend pregnant women to use heating pads. Sorry to hear of a possible miscarriage. All the blessings to her.
