Yes, they do seem like they don't breath but they are breathing once every 1 and a half minutes.
They appear cold and dead like, but when this happens try putting them in a warm environment to hibernate and they will wake up sooner.
You also spelt hamster wrong. Its not Hampster.

Oh yes Hamsters do hibernate..As we very well know...A few years back we had a hamster who was an energetic intelligent pain in the bum..ha!ha!escaped twice due to breaking out of the hamster--Ball and hiding for 3 days ..etc and then one day i went to clean out his cage when i noticed he wasn't moving,i didn't see any movement what so ever..also he was stiff...so i thought ok hes a gonna(what I'm gonna tell me little boy that his hamsters dead)..so anyway i put him in a bag and straight into the bin in which i was going to empty next day...after all the tears of my son and stuff i said we could a burial for it...so i went to get it back out of bin and i heard rustling in the bin and the bag...and guess what..!! He was alive....Couldn't believe it..ha! i found out later that they can hibernate from 2 to 10 days and it is hard to tell if they are alive or dead.....after all that the hamster died the next day for sure.....so i guess he was preparing himself..oh well .....

Syrian hamsters can hibernate. This is the only species that hibernates and it only does so under extreme cold or dry conditions. They do not have to hibernate, indeed it is best if they don't have to.

hamsters do hibernate but its unlikely that a pet hamster will because its warm in your house.i dont know about hampsters, perhaps they do the same thing.

yes..the important thing is 2 not let your hamster do this...you will no when he is trying to hibern8,he will be icy cold and his breathing and heart rate drop dangerously low the important thing also is to keep him warm so he doesnt hibern8 provide extra bedding..some people confuse the hibernating hamster with a dead one coz of the drop in heartrate, breathing and temp..u have to look very very closely at the hamster and you cn c his chest rising ever so slightly

Yes they can hibernate and it's easy to think that they're dead so check with the vet before burying your little buddy.

Well... they dont hibanat as such but they kind of hide away in their houses in warm cut up paper. so i would say 50/50 because they do come out in winter but they mostly sleep all day.
