I know of someone with two very small children who have no money for Christmas this year. How do I go about getting help from Toys for Tots for them?

im not sure about this particular program but i went to the salvation army last year with a familys name and situation and not only did the get toys but heaters and blankets and meals and clothes. Also, if you have a local EAGLES organization or Eastern Stars they do charity work for Christmas. If i think of some more I will let you know. People like you are who keep the real Christmas spirit alive. They are lucky to have you in their lives. God bless and good luck.

I don't know about the Toys for Tots, but you can go to the local United Way in the county the children live in and talk to a representative about putting the children on a list. The UW will not only help them get toys, but it will help them get non-perishable foods and other neccessities the children (and parents) need.

I found this on the Maine Toys For Tots FAQs page. Thought you might find it helpful. I've included the link for you. And I think that's wonderful you decided to help and donate toys to kids who don't have as much as you do. Question: I want to donate a toy, what are the criteria for an acceptable toy for this program? Answer: We are pleased to receive toys as donations. If a toy is going to be donated to the program, ensure that it is a NEW, UNWRAPPED TOY. Our goal is to provide and instill hope with the gift of a new toy. This mission can not be accomplished with second hand toys or hand-me downs, so instead of being turned away with your donation, make certain that your donation is new and unwrapped. We would also like to shy away from dangerous or violent toys. Donating toys that are unwrapped also aids the Marines and civilians helping with collections to ensure that these criteria are met.

Contact your local salvation army, but i believe the mother has to go in and show her income and information to get it.
