When did Christmas change from a religious celebration to a credit card companies wet dream?

Sometime before 1920 it became commercial. However credit cards use was not wide spread until the 50's or 60's so they had to wait another 40 years to have wet dreams.

When people became a lot greedier. When television started exploiting people to shop, shop, shop. When families started caring more about the "haves" then the principles they set forth in their children.
