Um, kind of like asking a parent who the better child is- depends on the parent. Any thinking person is open-minded. Not all people are thinking people. Not all people are open-minded.
Some are open minded, some seem to be open minded because they have no opinions, some think they're open minded, and some think that everyone is wrong so they're not being close-minded they're just trying to be helpful.
We all fit in somewhere- conservative or liberal- it's even shadier if you think in terms of our political parties.

Conservatives are constrained. We recognize human beings, while capable of great things, as indefinitely flawed and conserve this idea. We can create, but we can also destroy. We believe that everyone is self-governed by natural law rather than restrictive political law. We know, especially through studying history, that ideas (usually ones advocated by liberals, like socialism) cause disruptions in the natural flow of things which leads to the decimation of civilizations dating back thousands of years. In that aspect, we are close-minded. Liberals are unconstrained. They believe human beings can infinitely be redeemed and that their nature can be perfected. They advocate progressive law that changes with time to fit a small group of people that they believe will benefit everyone else. In that aspect, they are open-minded (until someone disagrees with them). "Open-mindedness", while amiable in nature, can lead to disaster, as proven by history. While the conservative argument is "Why?", the liberal argument is "Why? You should be more like this."

Conservatives are not necessarily Republicans. Conservatives can be Democrats as well. I'm a Conservative, I was raised by Conservative parents who taught me to listen to what people have to say. You don't have to agree with some ones opinions, but it is only respectful to listen to what they are saying. The reason I don't agree with most Liberals opinions is because I hear them talking about problems that this country has, but I never hear solutions for those problems. I base my opinions off of what makes the most sense to me. Like the War in Iraq. I don't like the war, but I would much rather it be going on over there than here. I saw what happened when they attack us. In one day, more people died on our own soil than the 4 years we've been over there. I'm not for war, but we are the most powerful nation in the world. With power comes enemies. Sometimes it's necessary to pursue the peace and keep this country the way it is. I'm also against illegal immigration. I think it's unfair for the immigrants that paid their dues to become citizens. I think it's unfair for the people that are waiting in line right now to become citizens. I think it's unfair that our hospitals are shutting down because they are spending more than is coming in. I think it's unfair for our children to be cut back on the education they should be getting because illegals don't contribute to the system. I always compare this situation to illegal immigration. let's say you were standing in line at the movies. I cut in line in front of you. Then I get a free movie ticket because I'm a certain nationality or race. This would upset you wouldn't it? I want to have kids one of these days, and I'm concerned about the type of environment they will be growing up in. I just don't see illegal immigrants having a positive effect on our environment. These are my Conservative views.

Liberals = Democrats; Conservatives do not equal Republicans
Republican nowadays are very close-minded.
Liberals and conservatives, in my opinion, are both equally open-minded. The Republican party gives a bad name to rational conservatives.
Good question

I have found Conservatives to be more open-minded.
Look into university guest lectures. When people like Ann Coulter, Bill Kristol or the leader of the Minuteman come to a college campus to speak, they are often heckled and disrupted, sometimes even assaulted.
When very liberal speakers come to speak, there is no similar treatment by conservatives.
Liberals, the radical ones, have no interest in hearing what the other side has to say, only silencing them. Hardcore conservatives on the other hand want to eagerly debate them on the ideas.
Liberals often attack the person when someone disagrees. Often instead of debating the ideas of conservatives, they call conservatives racists or haters. Even conservative minorities are regularly insulted as "Uncle Toms," or for "acting white." For instance, if a scientist has the gall to disagree on global warming, they are immediately called a tool of the oil industry, The validity or logic of their positions are not debated, they are only attacked personally.

The only place liberals differ is that they support different & alternate views on issues, and generally see that somethings are aren't always immediately clear, whereas conservatives seem to be more cut-and-dry & set in their views.
Neither is wrong, it's just the way we all are. Some of us sometimes see "gray" (liberals), while others always see "black and white" (conservatives.)
Of course, there are often exceptions to this.

Liberals tend to be more tolerant, but that's because their demographics imply they have more time on their hands and are willing to listen. Conservatives tend to be more judgmental because their lives demand a more pragmatic approach.
As far as acceptance and awareness is concerned though, there really isn't a valid general statement that can be made. Liberals can contradict and argue as much as conservatives can, and conservatives can stand up for what matters to them as much as liberals can. The problem is that conservatives don't show up to the polls as much and are much more willing to concede small points for the greater good while liberals are vice versa.

Ask a liberal to criticize their leaders and they wont, no matter what, even if they have Klansman in their group (Byrd)
As a conservative to criticize their leaders and they will in a heart beat. Me for example
Bush is weak on immigration
If he listens to the Iraq Surrender Group, I will withraw all support from the man
You really think libs did that with their holy clinton? Hell no
