I have had a good life, I like to give something back. I'm a scuba instructor. People taught me, so now I teach others (voluntary, not a paid job)

The purpose of helping others is to do exactly that....help them. Give whatever I can, lend a hand when it's necessary and not have some hidden motive for doing it. When you "help", you do it from the heart and expect nothing in return, the purpose is to make the life of someone else less stressful, worrisome or woesome.

If I want to live in a friendly helpful world I understand that I need to help to create that world.
If you value something, you have to pay for it. In time, money, or some other means. Then you can feel good in knowing that at least you've done SOMETHING instead of just complaining or worrying about where things are going wrong in the world.

If people need help and it is within my power to help them, then I help them. Nothing more than that.
