Yes nausea is a common side effect of taking any birth control pill. I would say if it lasts more than 3 months i'd change to a different pill. Sometimes a monophasic pill can cause nausea like this because it's a constant hormone throughout the month. Meaning it's the same level of hormone throughout the month. Where as a triphasic pill has three different levels of hormones, more like your own body. Your body goes through three different levels of hormones throughout the month to prepare for a cycle.
I would give Yasmin at least three months. I don't know what time you take it, but taking it at night while you sleep may help with some of the nausea. Try that and give it some more time. This isn't a wierd symptom it is a normal one to get when starting a pill, but if it's too overwhelming then you should change it after three months. That's the ideal amount of time to give yourself to adjust to a pill.
Hope this helps.

I don't take Yasmin, however I have been taking the pill for a very long time. Not everyone experiences it, but some people, especially when they first start up, will have intermittent nausea and sometimes even vomiting with the pill, because of the introduction of artificial hormones into your system.
To avoid this, take it with food (breakfast, for example) or right before you go to bed (you'll probably sleep through the discomfort).
If the problem persists for more than 2-3 months even with changes, then you need to talk to your doc & get a different formulation - the one you're on might not be right for you.
BTW, the pill stops the production of the ovum (egg) so that there is no egg to be fertilized. It also thins the lining of the uterus, so that in the event you DO ovulate, it won't be able to implant.

It can definitely make you feel sick! I had to stay home from work when I first started taking it... thought I had the flu, then noticed the pattern (that I was getting sick the first Wednesday of the pack at the same time of day!). My doctor suggested taking it at night, and that has been fine. Always make sure you have a little something in your stomach when you take it, too (even at night--once in a while if I take it on an empty stomach I'll wake up feeling a little ill in the middle of the night). As long as I take it at bedtime and don't have an empty stomach, I have no problems!

That's total bull shyst Persepho. You don't have irregular periods, it stabilizes them to a month to month bases, and the reason why you get sick for the first week or two is because your body is preparing itself for a baby, that's what the pill does. It tricks your body into thinking that your pregent [philosopical sense] so that if a man cums in you, chances are, his sperm won't be able to get inside your falopein tubes to your ovaries and make a real baby. Yasim, though, I do believe is a pill that stops the flow of your period. I would strongly not recomend this pill for anyone under the 25 age limit, because it could cause serious deternations in the uterus, also formulation the adasitiy of not being to have childern in the future.

I had some transitional issues going from Desogen to Yasmin--including nausea, fatigue, lethargy. But I remember that it was gone within the first week.

i havent though i take NO birth control pill. It ruins your natural hormones and changes your body. You feel weird, have funny periods, become sick and whatever else. If your doctor takes you off of it, chances are he will put you on something else that would interrupt your body hormonal chemistry.
