Everyone has forgot 9/11 when we all stood together.. I can't believe that an educated human being has said something like that....What do you say??

I don't think all white people should be exterminated... Then again, I'm white.

As for races hating each other, it's the flip side of attraction. We are attracted to other people (by this, I don't just mean romantic attraction, but friendship and soforth) largely due to their similarities to us. Therefore, it follows that difference repels us. Race is only skin deep, but it is an immediate indicator of difference. If we don't know people of the race we're wary of or prejudiced against, and what we do know about them is hearsay, then we often don't realise how similar we really are to people within the other race. Though, of course, you're right. Educated human beings should know better.

I never heard about that!! But that is a horrible thing for anybody to say!!!! In a sense I can understand that lots of people haven't had the experience of knowing people of other races and cultures due to their up bringing, Thus leaving a negitive, stereotypical veiw presented in media. But as a professor he should have known better! People don't always come from the same place, and we all have our different values and morals, but just because some one seems a little different then what your used to is no reason at all to bash them!! Everyone has the right to be treated with respect. I feel bad for the children that still have to grow up under the hatered of their parents and communities negitivity and racism. Shame on any adult that teaches these things to children!!!

I thought that was ridiculous, I have friends of races and nationalities and I can't picture my life without them. That man might be educated but he is still ignorant. People are people, not skin colors or all the other superficial traits that determine race. Until people realize that, there will always be racism and hatred in the world.

I think he had a bad day, maybe a bad decade that included some bad white people. Anger makes us say very stupid things. It's unfortunate that the color of our skin has divided our culture, and continues to do so.

Make eye contact today with another race and smile and say, "Aloha", it really warms people. If they don't say hi back...don't worry, they'll be thinking of your smile and your "Aloha" long after you've forgotten. Make a difference with yourself, see if a little goes a long way.

BTW...Aloha means Love and Respect...an acceptable greeting for coming or going!

He was a "former" professor, he had already been fired and was not expected to make such a speech.

You are speaking of an extremist who does not represent the larger population of black people. Just as I do not believe Michael Richards spoke for all white people when he spoke.

No, everyone is an individual and different, within every group of people.

Education is often text book knowledge, but moral and ethical I.Q. is a whole different field.

And yes, what an ignorant thing to say (about ANY race)

I agree with Robert b, Rebel Chick69, Ummu Masaa, and Philyra2. No matter if you are white or black your different, your parents might still be from different countries and your life styles and preferences might be different. But we are the same too! Our blood is the same color, we feel pain the same, we hurt the same and we all want what we (as an individual)want!

I wonder really what he was referring to,the media may have taken his statement and only televised a certain portion of what he had said fully.I think it was in reference to Katrina, black people were horribly handled in this disaster. The whites were bused to escape, while black people were being bused to the dome.I am a white person, and see the immense prejudice towards people with darker skin color. Its a sick part of our society to harbor hatered over a persons skin color.

The only people I find myself intolerant of are ignorant people who are content to remain so. I think they should not be allowed to reproduce. Maybe that would get rid of the world's idiot problem.
