Go to your guidance counselor, student counselor at local college and they should both have a written test that you can take that will show what areas you have an aptitude in....This is the best way because they can then discuss the results with you, instead of just having scores on the computer....Some people, like me, start college without a major....Start with your basics and continue your search and it will come to you....It will take around two years to complete basic requirements so get started....Good luck...................

Go to the library and look for books about job needs for the future so you will know what jobs will be hiring, then narrow those down to some possible jobs. Then find a college in the city you want and see what their biggest departments are. It really does matter where you go. You can choose one field as a major one as a minor, or do a double major which is best. I say the library because all books are in plain sight next to each other and you get inspiration just by seeing all of them on a shelf.

If you are interested, engineering and financial services are good.

There is a personality test called the Myers-Briggs personality test that is usually used to determine which people would work well together. However, some researchers have identified fields/jobs that people with certain personality types would enjoy. Other researchers however refute some of this theory but will admit that certain personality types usually end up in certain positions but in very different subjects (ie one type will end up being a salesperson, others will be writers/creators, etc.)
Search for Myers Briggs online and see what you can find.

If you go to Borders or search on Amazon you could most likely find books with tests in them that will help you figure out what your strengths and interests are. I think this is the best way to go for people who aren't sure what kinds of things they want to do with college. I wish you the best of luck!
