It's almost ironic. My company is doing a point of sale software upgrade-educating the users, training them, guiding them and supporting them.
YET SOME STILL RESIST the change.
People react to change differently, and the four basic responses in order are:
Denial - this CAN'T be happening
anger- I'm going to GET whoever did this!
transition- hey, this isn't so bad
acceptance - why did I ever resist?
You will find these four cycles apply to ANY change, not just organizational.
The key is in understanding WHERE the recipient is IN the cycle, and helping them to move on.

Being open to your employees. Letting them know the reasons for change. Encourage EVALUATION from employees... what do they think of the changes before and after they are implemented and what can management learn from their employees and change through this process.
