i've already preordered my wii and will get it sometime next week (i rang the store, gamestation in Leigh) but i really want a 360, knows the time to get a 360 because of gears of war, and other games coming out and ones that are out. + it always takes about a year for a console to get going like the 360 was ok last year but now its mint! because the developers know how to use it. whereas the wii it will take time for people who make the games to get used to so the games won't be as good straight away. so i was thinking i should get a 360 and wait till sometime in 2007 to get a wii because then there will be alot more and better games out for it. but what makes me want the wii is the controller, i play a 360 and i love it, i want one so bad! but then i see a video of a wii and i want that so bad! i actually just need to experience playing the wii. i could also cancel my preorder and get my £20 deposit back. Sorry for the long read. but could please answer my qouestion.

Well, it does depend on your favorite style of game and how big of a graphics buff you are.

I have played the 360 and I own a Wii. So, of course, I will suggest the Wii. The commercials and hype really don't do the system justice, in my opinion. I have bought many products which really were not all that they were cracked up to be, but that wasn't the case here.

The games that the Wii has out right now are terrific (expect Red Steel), however "Nintendoy" they are. You will not need many games to start with because you will end up playing the one or two you have for a while. They have an addictive factor that I haven't seen since PacMan. I just don't see anything special about Gears of War. It seems to be the same old game with new graphics. Dare to do something different.

It is true that the graphics are not as good as the Xbox, but they are good enough. My husband is a computer nerd, so he is very picky on the graphics and even he agrees that the Wii's graphics are still decent enough to justify turning to Nintendo instead of Microsoft.

Lastly, a little speculation on my part is that the Xbox has been out for a while and may end up coming down in price shortly. However, Nintendo is selling enough Wiis to charge the same amount for quite a bit longer.

First up, Grdmiller is wrong about the Wii having poor graphics. It is true that for sheer looks and power, the Wii does not stand up with the 360- but then, it isn't trying to. With the Wii, Nintendo are side-stepping the power play between Microsoft and Sony and trying something new.

The motion sensor controller puts you 'in' the game in a way that is new and innovative. It's more than a novelty. It's a fantastic idea that Nintendo are brave to try. You can play Game Cube discs on the Wii (it has ports for the games, controllers and memory cards of the Wii) and the virtual console will allow access to lots of classic games from both the NES, SNES and N64. You only need to look at the videos of Zelda or Call of Duty 3 on the Wii to see how immersive the experience will be.

They are completley different consoles. Nintendo have broken new boundaries using an innovative control system, making games more interactive. The Xbox is just a games console capable of outstanding HD graphics.
It's a tough decision - maybe if you had enough money you should get both, as im sure you would realise that they are very different machines. The war between console makers is becoming a much wider battle-field, with Nintendo concentrating on fun and Microsoft gunning for technology.
Personally - I'm getting a Wii. I've owned every type of Nintendo thus far including: NES, GameBoy, SNES, N64, GameBoy AdvanceSP, GameCube and a DS !!!

It really depends on a couple of factors. If you are looking for better graphics, more of a media center in your home theater, and just want to be able to sit on your couch and play, then go with the 360. The Wii involves very poor graphics and also requires you to actively play. For me this is a novelty and will get old fast. Sometimes I just want to sit there and blow things up, I don't want to have to run around the room. This is a personal question though.
The Wii will have Nintendo only games, which is a plus, and is much less expensive.

Depends how old you are and what sort of games you like.

Wii looks like fun to play with ya mates and children and I believe will mainly focus on more kiddish games.
PS3 is really good will have alot of role playing games and blueray player though personally I think HDdvd will be bigger. PRICE is a big factor.
360 just starting to come into it's own, lots of great games to choose from and online is unbeatable. At present the graphics produced on 360 games are better than the ps3 but that will change.
I do own a 360 but these are my thoughts.
Good Luck!!!

I bought my boyfriend a 360 for Christmas... Doesn't interest me though, its such a man thing. They have cornered the man market there but i think that they are missing out on the girls. I'd personally have a Wii, it looks so much fun! The thing is Nintendo are good for fun. My boyfriend has a PSP but he's always wanting to play on my DS Lite. 360 is for serious gaming, but Wii is for fun. I also bought Gears of War for my boyfriend...

if you want 'nice' looking games then the 360. If you want innovation , gameplay and low price, then the Wii

personally i think the 360 is amazing, the online play is excellent, and there is a great choice of games. Also the graphics are incredible especially on a hd TV.
