Go to my computer..Right click on the each drive select eject from the shortcut menu, see Which Tray comes out..On the front panel of each drive the name and the Functionality of the drive is written..I would say that is the easiest way to know which drive is which..

The default configuration has only one optical drive. If you have two, look on the front or in Device Manager to see what they are. CD-ROM means read only, CD-R/W means read/write.
