I reside in nj i left my home due to an eviction at the time i was recvieving section 8 so since i was being evicted i lost the section 8 soon after i also lost all my furniture but this was like 3 yrs ago now i feel so good to be free from him that i know it's hard, sad and scary but the reality is that i have a peace of mind i was wondering is there any programs that'll help regain so of my lost i've moved on but i'm struggling living w/ my mom not able to keep an apartment

It is my opinion that you will need to start from scratch. However, public assistance in some jurisdictions (such as New York City) assist low-income households with money for paying the security deposit and rent, moving expenses, furniture, utilities, etc. I don't know about NJ, but I know a lot of tenants in NYC that receive these benefits. You may want to try that route.

Are you asking about finicial losses? When I left my x all I had was a set of bunk beds, two kids and garbadge bags full of clothes and I mean that literally.For a time we were in a shelter they helped me get started and the rest is history. I dont think there is any way to recoupe your losses you just have to start over.
