I think the NBA has lost a lot of its appeal. Howard Stern has changed too much too quickly and did not give any of it a second thought, and much of that is going to come back to haunt him. Take a look at the new ball for example, at the beginning of the season he refused to listen to any of the players and their concerns. Now he is starting to realize how much of a mistake it was to introduce a new ball so quickly.
Secondly, it seems like teams are defined by one or two players. When someone mentions the Miami Heat or the Chicago Bulls, or L.A. Lakers. Immediately the attention is turned to one or two players on those teams, which I think is totally unacceptable. Last I checked basketball was a team sport. The attention these specific players recieve ruins that whole concept.

Yes i total agree. The game is made of money hungry guys who would rather get the paycheck for their hard work instead of a championship ring.
But that is with all sports now isn't it so it really isn't fair to call out basketball saying its the only one.
They trend now is fundementals and team ball, for a while it was all about glory and fame. but with rules like u can't come straight from highschool limits that. if you notice teams that are team-minded pistons spurs will win. avery and riley are making their teams more "we" oriented.

I think the NBA is better than ever, the officials have realy gotten strict, the fans are out of control getting tossed out and more technicals cause a player wants to argue over a call, im not sure who your fav team is but perhaps its your team that has made you feel that way.

Totally agree.
When Stern starting whoring out the league with individual stars vs. team play...it's been all downhill from there.
Plus these teams are made up of 20 year olds with terrible fundamentals...it's almost unwatchable.
This coming from a guy who used to not go out in college on Thursday nights so I could watch the games on TBS.

Basketball isnt what it used to be but it's still the most exciting sport out there.... it's fast paced and it's fulled with sharp shooters and high flyers... i agree alot of the players have lost the love for the game but there are still players out there like steve nash and chris paul who give it there all night in and night out
