It's just human nature. If you look at it simply, think about when your parents told you not to do something. As a kid/teenager, we think that they are wrong, they don't know, and they just want to make our lives miserable. Later, you grow up and find out that they were talking from experience and wanted to prevent you from making the same mistake. It seems like most of us cannot learn through the mistakes of others, we must learn everything the hard way by making the mistakes ourselves. So if you take that to the broader level, it's just human nature. And honestly, when you consider doing something that everyone is warning you against, what do you think? You think that they don't KNOW, this time it's DIFFERENT, and the end result won't be the same...but usually, we end up getting hurt...WHY are we like that? I don't know...that's just how God made us.

everything is a cycle.... and i mean everything. can u imagine a straight line having similarities with a cycle? well a cycle is like an O right? no beggining no end. same thing happens for a straight line.... it doesn't have a beggining or an end.
i feel it is like a game god is playing.... we learn and learn... for what? to find out everything god has created? as u said history seems to repeat itself and yet sometimes we don't learn. i feel it is because if find out all the secrets and learn everything then the game is over. and we are the losers so everything happens for a reason. and everything happens for our good. because although god is playing a game.. he is still on our side and he wins when his creation wins.
so the more we learn the more we know. the more we know the more we forget. and the more we forget the less we know. so the process continues

you are correct, history repeats itself, however it is from that history that we do learn, for the most part we are a fairly young civilization,I have to believe that we are like a child, always learning, you know from repeated history we gained the Industrial revolution which many inventions that exist today to make life easier and in some cases, life possible, came about. We do learn, but we also make bad choices sometimes, sometimes one man can make a bad choice and take this whole Country back 100+ years

Because only about 1/2 of the population of the world actually has the intelligence to understand what intelligence actually is or entails.
The rest of the blithering idiots only THINK they're always in the right and therefore live under the false belief that they are intelligent. Unteachable is the man who always believes that he is above reproach and correction.
Personally... I would rather make mistakes to learn from them, not make them as a continuing process of my life under the assumption that everything I do is just honky dory~ Most people believe... and cement themselves into their thought process because they don't want to be proven wrong. These people unfortunately are the most "educated." and some even rule the planet~ Strange irony in that isin't there?

Us as humans are some of the dumbest species. We constantly make the same mistake hopeing for someone to tell us that what we do is not to make it again, but to learn from it. We are all here for a purpoise and to live life miserably is just not worth it

Well, really- if my life weren't always a bit of yesterday, could I even cope? And, I guess we are terribly poor learners. I don't try to figure it out- I live. And try to learn. And if it's a process, I hope I'm making progress towards my goal.

Human beings are creatures of habit. We love our little rituals and traditions. We cling to them and our beliefs because they are comforting and we feel safe operating within their limits. As one generation passes, they leave the younger generation to continue, and thus another generation passes the same rituals and traditions on to the next.
