An AA is an Associates in Arts, its a 2-yr degree. Not as good as a BA - Bachelors. Emlpoyers would choose someone who had a BA over an AA, its more advanced.

An A.A. degree, which stands for Associate of Arts is simply a 2 year degree. A B.A., which stands for Bachelor of Arts is a 4 year degree.

In terms of employment, there plenty of jobs for both so which way you go is a personal choice. I've got plenty of students at one of the community colleges where I teach (2 year school) who plan on going on to get their Bachelor's. I've got plenty of others who are going right into the workplace.

Bottom-line is that you'll still be starting at the bottom regardless of which way you go. The only difference is in how much training you really want and where you ultimately want to be down the road.

AA's are all but worthless to employers these days.

If you're going to pursue an education, get at least a BA. If you won't get a BA, skip it all.
