they might be young and fit but we have the button.

The young may have an arsenal of modern terms which are completely meaningless to everyone else which may seem like devastating ballistic bombs in this war because some of the young can appear to over-react when they have made what they or their peers believe is a good point.
The aged may be less concerned about the impact of the war on bystanders and more concerned about winning the war and the proper use of (grammar & diction) weapons.
They'd each win a battle but the war will rage for generations (gap)
Massive sterotype but fun, nevertheless!

Generally, the winner is 'he who is still standing after the last shot has been fired'. I'm going with the Young because, unfortunately, they seem to have less fear (or care) of hurting someone else's feelings... and they know less (I mean experience, wisdom wise) and so they are more fearless in what they'll say. Age stops 'firing' first because they know that, really, a word war is not that important and not worth the energy exerted or the pain inflicted. Folks, I speak from experience having been young and not being quite so young anymore. I'm much slower to engage in verbal conflicts than I was then... (Unless you're Rush Limbaugh- then all generalities about "Older and Wiser, etc" are out the window...)
Or should I say that in most cases, in my opinion, they would play out their roles in that way...
Although I seem to enjoy YA... *lol*

The aged will win, because they have had a lot longer to learn the words than the young have.
Of course with the words young people use now, the older generation can hardly recognize them. To much slang and jibberish that means nothing.

The aged. Unfortunately, we cut down words to make life easier or quicker!
For example, a young couple meet in the street and all they would say is hi! ok? Whereas the aged would say.... hello, how are you? Or young: cold innit? Aged: Isn't it cold today?

The older generation have a wider vocabulary because
a) They have been around longer
b) They used to read books as children and not rely on the TV for entertainment

The likelihood, is that he older person would win, simply due to the chances that the older person has read more and has the experience to utilise what has been read and has been able to integrate the vocabulary gleaned over the years.
Does that fit within your context?

No,don't call me naive,is just I am tired of people fighting all the time, why can't we just be ourselves and help each other rather than ignore everything?

NO ONE.
the elders have the wisdom and experience, the youngsters have the strength and stamina.
but in war no one wins, everyone loses.

Might be a toss-up. Most older people have a richer vocabulary, but the younger people have words that were invented recently that the older people probably wouldn't know.
