If you have Windows Xp then make an empty folder and give it a name, add what you want to it, right click the file, click send to, then compressed (zipped)folder. If you do not have Windows Xp then you will need a program like WinZip to do this.
You can find a free one at this site but you will have to put Zip in the search. I like this site as I have found no malware or spy-ware on it and they check every file before allowing it. Keep an eye on the ratings to see what others think of program.

Just remember that if you use a 3rd party compression like WinZip, if you send the file to another person they have to have that program to open it. I just use the zip folder in WindowsXP as most people are using that OS.

In windows XP > Right click file/folder you want to zip > Send to > Compressed zip folder
There are programs avaliable that make the process faster and better (i.e. better compression)
These are winrar and winzip
