I was talking to a black guy and he said that the hecklers weren't suing Richards for money but to teach him a lesson. Here's what I don't understand though, if they are doing it to teach him a lesson then why did a story a few days ago run saying that the men didn't know how much money it would take to heal the wounds. Also, if it's not for money, then why sue at all, if this incident happened to them somewhere in public, where an average white guy would to have called them that, then there would be no lawsuit. Also, if everyone feels Richards is a racist, then fighting back with racism would make the offended also into offenders. The guys did use racial slurs to fight back at Richards, which in turns makes them racist and no better than Richards, but no one seems concerned with that though.

The hecklers are stupid. They made fun of Michael Richards, he fights back and then they make this whole thing that it's Richards the one that's at fault. Then top it off... they want an apology and to sue him because wait for it!!! They can't get over it. I hope the judge throws out the case. It's the case of being stupid.

Michael Richards was very wrong to say what he said. It was entirely inappropriate, vulgar, unprofessional, and insulting. But the man has apologized more than once. If you keep picking at a sore, it won't heal. Just food for thought.

Time to move on.

They're suing because they're greedy and are milking their fifteen minutes of fame/victimhood.

There is NO question that Richards was way out of line. He was nasty, inappropriate and should be deeply ashamed of himself. But he's apologized, and it's time to move on.

The fact that the hecklers are suing makes me lose every shred of respect I might had had for them before.

Freedom of Speech. Michael Richards, Mel Gibson, the Dixie Chicks and others who speak their mind are my heroes. If they try to sue I hope he fights it. He said he was sorry. If they want money then they are the worst scum of the earth.
