Actually it won't go straight to your bank account. I used to have my bank account setup for Paypal as well so I know where you are coming from. When you selling something on eBay and have the funds setup for a bank account with Paypal the money you get from the selling with go to your Paypal account at Paypal.com from their you can send the money from the Paypal account into your bank account, or you can leave it there and if you make a purchase using Paypal the money will be deducted from the amount of money you have in your Paypal account.
If I remember correctly it was faster to buy something if the money was sitting in your Paypal account as opposed to sitting in your bank account.
If you want to make speedier purchases and sales where the money goes straight to your bank account, I'd recommend just getting a debit card. If you have a checking account with your bank they should offer a debit card with it, most bank I'm aware of offer them. And you can use the debit card as a credit card, except it just takes the money to or from your checking account, eliminating you having to go to Paypal and having to send the funds to your bank account. I'd try going with a debit card, once I did that everything went a lot smoother and faster.
Hope this has helped.

I went through the same thing you did, but there's a way to get around it. Somewhere on PayPal there's an option to add a debit or credit card to your account. PayPal will use this to not only verify your account further but as a backup fund as well. When the card is added and you buy something, PayPal will give you the option to draw money from the debit or credit card when it sees that you don't have any money in your PayPal account. Sometimes it may not ask you. But if it lets you buy the item successfully, that means it was able to get the funds from your debit or credit card. Check your account activity or view a receipt and the debit or credit card transaction will appear there. I dealt with the same frustration you did when I first got PayPal until somebody told me that I could use my debit card.

You just log into your account and click withdraw funds. Tell them to send the funds to your bank account. It will take a few days. These things happen faster when you are rated higher in PayPal, but I never wait more than a few days.

You have to make a transfer request. PayPal is one of the most popular online money transfer systems widely used for online auctions, pay to surf programs, e-books and purchase of low value goods. It is now a part of the online auction website eBay. More details available at

Go to paypal.com and log into your account. You have to request that the funds be transfered into your bank account. there will be a form to do that with if they have received payment from the buyer. it usually takes around 3 days to show up in your bank account. i have had it to take a little longer though. hope this helps.

It will be deposited into your paypal account. It will sit there until you instruct them to transfer to your bank account. They can do it within a few days after you instruct them to do so.
