When I'm not on duty I can be found being pretty much a slob. Hair pulled back into a pony tail, who cares if it sticks out. Running pants and a grubby t shirt. Most days I don't even wear shoes. Yea- I'm pretty laid back during my time off. But when I am on duty my uniform is pressed, hair and nails dressed to level, shoes spotless make up in place. I'm ready for the public to see the uniform and know that I am a professional.

Yes. It does. I am actually doing a debate about this for an honors seminar. The way that people first judge someone is by their outward appearance. A girl wearing a mini skirt and skimpy shirt will be judged as a slut. A girl wearing baggy black clothes with black hair will be judged as a goth. Clothes do define what other people think of you.

If we go to a party with good dress we also feel good and automitacally show that we are delighted by the invitation to party.
