I started feeling movement at 16 weeks, not knowing exactly what it was. At about 19 weeks, the movement really became constant and there hasn't been even a couple hours until this point that I haven't feel her move quite a bit. I noticed yesterday that I didn't have any movement. But, now I'm having a lot of inward pain, I can barely sit up and don't even talk about trying to bend over. I feel as though I've just run a marathon, and even my back is hurting today. Do you think the baby shifted? She was sideways a week ago when we did the ultrasound. I'm just so worried, the doctor's were actually quite surprised at how active she was, and I worry about the umbillical cord wrapping itself around her neck. I just think I need to some reassurance that everything is alright. How many babies make it if the umbillical cord gets wrapped around the neck?
Thank you

I know it gets a little scarey when they say to start watching the movement of your baby. But what they also don't tell you in that there is a certain point when the baby starts getting into sleeping patterns. If you have ever had a newborn or been around one, you will know that they will get into a pattern of not sleep(:)) but then all of the sudden they will want to sleep for 4 or 5 hours. As a mother that's kinda scarey too because you start thinking if the baby is okay and check on him/her every 5 min.Anyways my answer is it is okay to not feel movement even for a day. They will sleep alot at some points. But if it goes on for 2 or 3 days with no movement then I would contact your doctor.Hope it helped.

I just found out that I am having a little boy and he was really active yesterday during the ultrasound and this morning he hasn't moved much but I know he is ok because if you lift up your shirt and look at you navel you can see it playing with itself. Your baby is fine I have these same pains and at nite when I use to him kicking some nites he don't but if you are just truly concerned call you doctor and let him know maybe he can do an ultrasound for your reassurance.

Mine did that to me. wriggled like an eel for a month then stayed still for 2 days. The pains are a bit of a worry though, I'd go to the doctor asap, even if it's just to put your mind at rest.
As soon as I'd seen the doctor she started wriggling about again and never stopped. She had the cord around her neck twice. It pulled so tight she wasn't breathing when she was born. Fortunately medical staff are trained to deal with problems like that and they gave her a quick blast of oxygen. She was fine. Nearly 16 years later, she still fine.
Good luck

Babies do sleep in the womb and sometimes are less active than others. Plus as they get bigger they have less room to move around. But if you are concerned then you should call your doctor right away. You can always stop by the office and have them listen to the heartbeat. The pain could be the ligaments, but it would be best to check with the doctor. Good luck.

Babies do make it with the cord around their neck. If you dont feet any movement within by tonight, go to ER. If the pains get worse, go to ER. Somedays the baby can be more active than others. It is alot better to be safe then sorry. Good luck

first 90% of babies have their umblical cords around their neck at some point because they move alot this is over dramatized they move and become untangled however a loss of movement is a concern call your doctor or go to labor and delivery
