Because genes get mixed.
Bacteria have asexual reproduction and they just copy themselfs so all the children are the same as the parent.

That is a pretty simple question. Sexual reproduction takes place between two people who are already different. They have different traits, faces, body-types, and hopefully genes. Sexual reproduction allows the differences to join into a whole new person. The person is a mixture of two different people and thus is extremely different. Do you know that there is a 1 in 64 trillion chance that there is someone exactly like you? There aren't even 64 trillion people in the world! Sexual reproduction brings different things together and brings out different combinations.
Hell, even the haploids an individual produces aren't same because of the process of "crossing over" that takes place in meiosis. People can't be same and that is simply because the mixture of two different people results in something new. That ends up causing sexual diversity.

The reasons above are partially correct to varying degrees. Crossing over is a factor, but in addition to that, sexual reproduction causes different COMBINATIONS of genes to occur. The genes themselves are not altered, so sexual reproduction does NOT generate new genes (different processes account for that). However, you get a completely different arrangement of the existing genes when you combine them through sexual reproduction. By the way, crossing over is NOT the reason siblings look different (at least not the whole reason). It has to do with with the assortment and segregation of chromosomes during meiosis. Siblings would look different even if crossing over did not occur. Offspring from the same parents do not always receive the same genes. The previous poster is mistaken.

Genetic diversity is just that...A larger gene pool will show more diversity than a smaller, possibly inbred gene pool. Example: people on an island will have a relatively small gene pool to work with, while people on a large continent will have a larger, more diverse group of genes.

The genetic data from man is transfered to the womans body. where the genetic data in the woman's cell intermingle into each
other forming a new set of genetic information which transfered
to the baby in mothers womb.
this process goes on and on forming numerous sets of genetic information.
which specify the shape, colour,sex ,complexion,eyes,skin,skeleton,features from age 7 to age 70etc.
this leads to the formation of a new individual different from every other individual.
this all genetic information is enclosed in a single cell and it continues increasing the diversity of man
the group of human being form the world of man to carry out his duties and transfer his genetic material to a new comer.

Because "crossing over" occurs between chromasomes, producing variable offspring. This is why siblings are not the same, although they same genes given to them by thier parents. Relatively speaking, this produces a wide variety of offspring compared bo budding or parthenogenesis.
