In Zelda-Twilight princess when you are riding that bird in Zora domain to catch bugs....?

I cant figure it out. it says to Z target them and then Dash at them but no matter how much I try IT WONT WORK... What the heck am I doing wrong??? I've tried it SEVERAL times to no avail. Any advise please??

One major trick: Enable your senses. This will cause holding Z to lock on, and the bird will just annihilate them.

it does work but it takes some time. it took me 3 times to get it done. you just lock one with the Z then dash at them with A. Make sure you are pretty close to them and they are right in front of you. Thats all there is to it. No real tricks.
