Your comparison shows your lack of knowledge of Madrid. Roberto Carlos is one of the most deadliest left back in the world and has scored tremendous goals for Madrid. Heinze on the other hand has not and is struggling to make the starting XI in United. Ferdinand is a centre back and Ramos is a wing back, how the hell can you compare to different position players? Ramos has set up more goals and scored more than Ferdinand if you want to look at statistics wise. Cannavaro won the golden ball award as the best defender in the world and isn't he better than Vidic? Scholes is an attacking midfielder while Diarra is a defensive midfielder can't compare once again. Beckham isn't starting XI but instead Robinho plays his position.
I'm United & Madrid fan but I couldn't say which team is better but when they last met in CL in 03/04, Madrid won on aggregate 7-5. (3-1 Madrid,4-3 United)

I don't think you can answer this question by comparing individual players. Real Madrid have more "galacticos" but they do not have the core of home grown players that Ferguson built up, and hence they do not gel as well as a team. Again, Real Madrid have had money and won cups, but they do not have the consistency of Ferguson's management.
I don't think there's a lot in it, but at the moment Manchester United are probably better. Any team that can be ahead of Chelsea, with its unlimited funds for plyers, in the Premiership must be pretty good.
Barcelona are morally better because they were against Franco and they are a members' club.

HELL NO!!! Real Madrid would crush manchester, if they play each other, manchester would no longer exist....
real madrid got casillas, he's not the best but he's excellent.
there're Roberto carlos, cannavaro, selgado, helguera and ramos which make excellent deffence.
midfielders: beckham, reyes, diarra, emerson, robinho, and guti
attackers: raul, nistelrooy, ronaldo, cassano.
all these players are excellent, and i would prefer anyone of them over ALL of them over manchester united

Real Madrid is star studded. But they can't play as well as Manchester does together as a team. sooo MANCHESTER UTD!!!! :D
van nistelrooy and ballack are awesome....and you can't say van nistelrooy is not as good as rooney. the man scored 150 goals in 220 some matches....that's amazing. sad that he left.
manchester would show up real madrid...that's for sure. they tied 1-1 w/ dc united...the best team in the US. dc united is amazing (which they are but play a different style of soccer).

Real are by far the better team. Just look at their European Cup record - 10 times champions to United's two (and the second of these was extremely lucky!)
