you will need to "rip" the DVD into another format, i.e. MPG or AVI. There are plenty of free programs out there that will do it. Just google it and you will get something.

depends on what movie you are trying to rip .........
there are different protections on dvd's
I would recommend doing some reasearch on the net for each movie once you get the movie ripped I would recommend saving some money and use a 4.7gig dvd (convert useing dvd shrink)

First you need to have a DVD-R reader install in you PC, then you need a program that rips such files to your hard disk.
