Yes, it is very irritating. But unfortunately, sex sells. The majority of our society enjoys watching these scenes even though they eare completely irrellavent.

It's like the end of the world...bombs are falling everywhere...mother nature is killing people...a giant monster is crushing buildings...and yet, there has to be time set aside for a quickie of some sort...it's retarded. Who does that?!?
I sho' as hell am not thinking about sex if the world were to come to an end, I'd try to make sure I'm at peace with my maker if that...

Sex sells in Hollywood, supposedly. It's tiresome, usually unneccesary to the story, but some producers somewhere rub their filthy rich paws together saying "Put this hottie and that hottie and let 'em at it" and that's how it goes. Stupid, silly, yes.

Pretty much. When I see something like that, I consider it either lazy writing, or network "suits" taking creative control when they have no creative talent. It will put me off a show completely.
