It seems that anime and manga has become very popular and most people are influenced by it in some ways. Why?

it first blast off in Asia e.g. Japan, Korea...
actually if we turn the table to western countries...
they are not bad as well.
lets say US.
marvel comics are already producing great comics in earler days.
e.g. Superman, Spiderman, u name it.
well anime and manga got so popular nowadays cuz they just got introduced recently and ppl always like new stuff.
so there's no fuss bout why mangas and anime so popular anyway.

The World of anime/manga is a basically a fantasy for many people. It is a form of entertainment that can enhance the viewers emotions. They get sucked into this world, where anything is possible. Of course, thats why is it not realistic. Characters in anime/mangas can convey emotions and feelings that may be hard to be expressed by people. Artists can create their wildest fantasies through anime and manga where audiences appreciate their world. Personally, I enjoy it because it is totally different from watching soaps. I get completely sucked into the manga/anime (if its a good one) and it becomes a lifelong memory. Sometimes I watch animes/read mangas that I've watched/read YEARS ago. Its a fantastic thing and I think you should give it a go. No harm in trying. Some people love, some don't.

becaust remeber when you were a kid and watched cartoons and you loved it and when you grew up and watched the same cartoons and you realized they sucked well anime fills that void they are cartoons for adults and some for kids they generally have better animation and storylines than american cartoons oh and heres a something that i read on wikipedia Robin Williams someone you wouldnt expect to like anime is supposedly a big fan of the anime show Neon Genesis Evangelion and is interested in making it into a live action movie

because their fun to watch/read, and just about anyone can find at least one anime or manga they like because there any alot of different types like action,romance,and commedy and alot have more then one type. And unlike amarican cartoons anime isn`t only for kids there are some kids would like, some teens would, like some adults would like, and most just about any age group would like.

For the same reason anything is: it's an escape.
The cool thing about anime and manga is that visually it is so far from reality (even when the artwork is very realistic) that it takes us even farther from our dull and redundant -- or perhaps chaotic and relentless-- lives.

The stories are great, and original, and the artwork just kicks some major a$$. Those are something that you just get totally involved in, and before you know it, you just gotta see the next episode, or read the next book. They're great.
