There is a movie that came on TCM Its old. (turner classic movies) About a girl and boy who were in love. The boys father told him to have fun with other girls before he gets tied down. The girl finds out and she goes into a deep depression and cuts her hair off. Eventually she is sent to a mental ward or community.She gets out years later to find that her boyfriend has a wife and children. What is the name of this movie???!!!!!

Sounds a lot like "Splendor in the Grass" with Natalie Wood and Warren Beatty. It was made in 1961. You might enjoy another movie she did in that vein called "Marjorie Morningstar" about a girl who wants to go into the theater. Of course, "Rebel Without A Cause" is great, too. Maybe even "Inside Daisy Clover".
